The 5th annual Lake County Film Festival was this past weekend and White Out screened twice to rave reviews.
"An intriguing tale examining the loss of truth and fidelity in relationships, as a partner's mistakes compound and revisit them in the arena of public humiliation. The writing is very sharp and the performances expertly build. A fantastic comedy/drama that astutely asks the audience many questions and does not spoon feed them answers. White Out is at once both horrifying and hilarious, no easy feat. Kept me up way past my bed time." - Jake Jarvi

News From January 6, 2008

Today, as principal photography on our new film Never Have I Ever wrapped, and a single day under a year from the wrap of principal photography on White Out, we got a call from Nat Dykeman, founder of the Lake County Film Festival, to personally let us know that White Out is an official selection of the illustrious Northern Suburban Chicago film festival, now in its fifth great year and growing steadily. We're honored to call the Lake County Film Festival our official festival premiere at the end of February.

News From December 30, 2007

Last night, White Out premiered to a huge crowd at Palatine's Cutting Hall Theater just over five years after the premiere of David B. Grelck's "The Leslie Situation" produced by CNGM Pictures, NFP. The audience's response was overwhelmingly positive and bodes well for the upcoming year of film festivals.
After the film, Daily Herald Film Critic Dann Gire hosted a Q&A with David B. Grelck, Jonathan C. Legat, Michelle Higgins and Eric Lipe. During this presentation, Gire called the flashback sequence of the film "The most erotic scene he's seen in 2007" among some other tremendous comments. Almost one year to the date after the start of principal photography (The "One Little Thing" short began filming in early December '06) White Out is now complete. In addition to the film itself being complete, the 2 Disc Special Edition DVD is coming soon. The film goes before one more audience with a special sneak preview at Flashpoint Academy in Chicago, Illinois on December 17th before having its World Premiere at Cutting Hall Theater in Palatine, IL on December 29th. It's been a long and strange journey, and the fun is just getting started.

News From August 1, 2007

A while has passed since our last update, though MUCH has happened. The editing went through three cuts, after which it was shown to select cast and crew, as well as two very limited audience test screenings.

At these test screenings, many comments and thoughs were discussed about the characters, about the film as a whole, the length, etc that ultimately shaped the next cut.

Editors David B. Grelck and Michael P. Noens put the film away for a few months before attacking it once again in Mid-July. Two more cuts were done, trimming precious seconds here and there.

Two weeks ago, Momcat Productions' Jon Negus graciously donated his time and recording studio for recording the callers in a pofessional environment. Grelck spent eight hours in the studio with the various call in cast members, spending two hours perfecting Stephanie Wyatt's performance as Nick's philandering fiancee Michelle. (see photo above)

Earlier this week, Grelck & Noens sat down with Co-Producer/Star Jonathan C. Legat to view the film with the new caller audio, finish up the three remaining insert shots and lock the running time. The most notable change to come from this meeting of the minds was that it was the first cut to actually increase the running time. What caused this was the moving of the pivitol flashback scene to earlier in the film, thus allowing it to be fleshed out further.

After this, the three producers all agreed, White Out has been locked!

Now, preparations for submission to The Sundance Film Festival can begin!

News From March 18, 2007

White Out has been trudging through the editing process for the last two months since principal photography wrapped. In that time, two rough cuts beyond the initial assembly have been completed. With several more cuts planned, each tuning the film more and more, the film looks on track for test screenings as early as late May/early June.

Producers David B. Grelck & Michael P. Noens have decided that their first priority for White Out is getting the film ready for a date with Robert Redford at Sundance. Submissions begin in May and continue through November. Beyond Sundance, WDBG Productions, Inc. is planning limited screenings next year, as well as a host of film festival submissions.

The White Out soundtrack is developing tremendously and now has over an hours worth of songs by some fantastic artists including Andrew Fenner, whose song Someone to Hold You was featured on Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion in 2005. As the soundtrack gets confirmed, watch the On Air page to take a look at some of the bands who contributed music to our film.
